Country houses, hotels, public buildings and private residences, photographed in the same light as the gardens that surround them. Clive’s architectural work grew out of forty years of garden commissions: the house is rarely the whole subject, and the photographs place it where it belongs – in its setting, at the hour when stone, glass and plantings read as one composition.
Recent commissions have taken the studio from Cotswolds manor houses and Scottish estates to villas in Corfu, Provence, Tuscany and Menorca, and to modern houses whose geometry the camera turns into sculpture.
Photographs are delivered captioned and retouched, ready for architects’ and designers’ portfolios, hotel marketing, press features and books.

What kinds of buildings do you photograph?
Contemporary structures and homes, country houses, hotels, public buildings and private residences – sometimes set within a borrowed landscape, where countryside views add drama and atmosphere to the shoot.
Can the interiors be photographed on the same visit?
Yes. Most architectural commissions cover the house inside and out; both exterior and interior are photographed in optimal light.
When is the best light?
As with garden photography, dawn and dusk usually deliver the best light and atmosphere. A full day covers both and the details can be photographed in between.
What do I receive?
Captioned, retouched photographs delivered digitally, licensed for portfolios, hotel and practice marketing, press submissions and books.
Do you travel?
Yes. Recent commissions have taken the studio from the Cotswolds and the Scottish Highlands to Corfu, Provence, Tuscany and Menorca.
