Features

Complete garden stories – a full set of photographs with captions and the background to the garden – are offered on first serial rights. Ask for the current list of unpublished features.

Books and calendars

Clive’s work has appeared in hundreds of books and calendars with publishers in the UK, the US, Germany and Japan. Volume licensing for a title, or a bespoke shoot for a cover or a whole book, are both routine.

Questions

How do I search the library?

By subject, garden, plant, season or place, at library.clivenichols.com – or send us the brief and we will search for you. Most clients prefer the second.

How is licensing arranged?

Rights-managed for features and books, royalty-free for smaller uses. Tell us the publication, size and territory and we will quote; press accounts get preferential rates and downloads to A3.

Can we commission a feature?

Yes. Features are shot on first British serial rights with a period of exclusivity, then free to resell; we can suggest gardens that are coming into their own.

What resolution and format do you supply?

High-resolution JPEGs from the original files, captioned with the garden, designer and plants, ready for print. Other formats on request.

Do you have photographs of a particular garden?

Very possibly – forty years and 140,000 photographs cover most of the gardens that matter. Ask, and we will endeavour to provide you with what you need.
